Free Travel Passports & Stickers from US Tourism Departments
One of our favorite parts of road-tripping is collecting stickers and magnets from the places we visit. Each one becomes a little reminder of a favorite destination, scenic drive, or family adventure. Travel Passports & Stickers are out there but are harder to find unless they are limited finds.
If you enjoy collecting travel stickers, you don’t always have to buy them. Tourism departments and destination organizations sometimes create free sticker programs, sticker trails, passports, and special travel campaigns.
I went looking for U.S. tourism websites that specifically mention stickers or decals. Here are some fun programs to add to your travel collection.
Note: Sticker programs are often limited-time promotions. Some are available only at participating visitor centers or attractions. Always check the linked website before making a special trip.
Oklahoma Travel Passports & Stickers
Oklahoma is where our own sticker-collecting adventure started. TravelOK, the state’s official tourism website, previously offered free #OKHereWeGO stickers alongside its free travel brochures.
They no longer offer this program, but they do have a fun Passport Series:
Cruise Oklahoma is a Route 66 passport highlighting memorable stops along Oklahoma’s 400+ miles of the Mother Road. The passport is divided into five regions: Eastern, Tulsa, Midpoint, OKC, and Western Oklahoma. Business hours may change, so call ahead before visiting.

How to Complete Your Cruise Oklahoma Passport
- Bring your passport to each Route 66 stop and have it stamped.
- If a stop is closed, take a photo of yourself in front of the location.
- Complete all the stops in one of the five passport sections.
- Take your passport and any required photos to an Oklahoma Tourism Information Center.
- Show your passport and photos to a staff member.
- The staff member will sign your completion page and give you a section-specific keychain.
- Complete all five sections to collect all five keychains!
If you are looking for Oklahoma-themed stickers today, TravelOK also lists Oklahoma businesses that sell them. For example, Ida Red General Store carries locally designed stickers and other Oklahoma souvenirs.
Nebraska Road Trip Sticker Hunt
Nebraska has one of the most creative Travel Passports & Stickers programs we have found…who doesn’t love a scavenger hunt?!
Visit Nebraska created a Nebraska Road Trip Scavenger Hunt that takes travelers through all seven regions of the state. The 2025 program featured regionally themed stickers at participating tourism offices, visitor centers, and attractions.
Travelers placed the stickers in their official Nebraska Travel Guide. After collecting the regional stickers, participants could earn a Visit Nebraska logo sticker.

South Dakota’s Black Hills & Badlands Sticker Trail
If you’re planning a South Dakota road trip, add the Black Hills & Badlands Sticker Trail to your itinerary.
This regional tourism organization has created a collectible trail featuring stickers representing communities throughout the Black Hills and Badlands. The official website currently lists participating communities and sticker locations.
You can collect stickers from places including:

The 2026 vacation guide describes the program as a way to collect free stickers while exploring the region. It also highlights a limited-edition America 250 sticker available at the Black Hills Visitor Information Center.
This is exactly the type of road trip souvenir collection we love. You can turn your vacation into a scavenger hunt while visiting different towns.
Black Hills & Badlands Sticker Trail
New Mexico Route 66 Travel Passports & Stickers Passport
New Mexico has another great option for sticker collectors in 2026.
As part of the Route 66 Centennial, New Mexico MainStreet created a Route 66 Centennial Passport. Travelers can visit participating businesses in 10 MainStreet districts along New Mexico’s historic Route 66 corridor.
Each district has its own sticker design. The stickers represent the history and character of each community. The free passport rack card is available in the participating Route 66 districts from Gallup to Tucumcari.
This one is especially fun if you’re planning a Route 66 road trip. Instead of simply driving through New Mexico, you can make collecting the stickers part of the adventure.

North Carolina Welcome Center Sticker Giveaways
North Carolina’s tourism program also uses stickers as promotional giveaways.
Visit NC’s Welcome Center materials specifically mention giveaways such as
So if you’re driving through North Carolina, it can be worth stopping at one of the state’s Welcome Centers. You may find a fun destination sticker to add to your collection.
Indiana Travel Sticker Opportunities
Visit Indiana occasionally uses stickers as prizes for special travel challenges.
For example, a 2025 Visit Indiana hiking challenge at Pokagon State Park offered finishers a bottle and a sticker while supplies lasted. The challenge required hikers to photograph designated waypoints and show their photos at the nature center.
This is another example of why it pays to check state tourism websites before a trip. Stickers may be tied to special events, trails, contests, or seasonal programs instead of being available year-round.
Indiana Passports from Visit Indiana offer a fun way to explore destinations across the state while earning discounts, prizes, and other rewards. The collection includes themed passports for food, outdoor adventures, arts and culture, attractions, history, and more. Many are digital and let travelers check in from their smartphones as they discover new places throughout Indiana.
What About Other States?
Unfortunately, most state tourism websites don’t offer free stickers or decals as a regular mail-order item.
That doesn’t mean you should skip their websites. Many offer free travel guides, maps, brochures, road-trip guides, visitor guides, and trip-planning materials.
These can be just as much fun to collect. We like keeping travel guides from places we’ve visited because they become little snapshots of our trips.

Turn Your Travel Passports & Stickers Into a Collection
Collecting travel stickers doesn’t have to be expensive. Start by checking the official tourism website before each trip.
Look for stickers, decals, sticker trails, passports, scavenger hunts, visitor centers, and special tourism campaigns. Some programs may offer stickers for free, while others make them available only at certain stops.
We recently moved a second refrigerator into our garage, and it has become our travel souvenir display. We add magnets from our trips and use magnets behind some of our stickers.
That way, we don’t permanently stick everything to the refrigerator. We can move the collection around or save the stickers if we replace the fridge.
You could also create a travel sticker book, scrapbook, map, or framed display. A sticker from every state would make an especially fun goal. The best part is that every sticker comes with a story. It might remind you of a scenic highway, a favorite restaurant, a family vacation, or an unexpected roadside stop.
So before your next road trip, check the state’s tourism website. You may find a free sticker, decal, passport, or travel challenge waiting for you.
