RV and camping trip planning
Recreation.gov: Search participating federal recreation facilities for campsites, permits, and other reservations. Availability and booking windows vary by location; not every campground uses this service. Before reserving, compare your RV’s length, hookups, arrival rules, and cancellation terms with the actual site listing.
National Park Service trip planning: Check the individual park’s current alerts, reservations, maps, and accessibility information. A campsite reservation and permission to enter a park can be separate requirements.
For the details that make a camping trip come together, start with our camping supplies checklist and easy RV meal ideas. A dinner plan belongs on the packing list, too!
Oklahoma day trips and state parks
We’re based in Edmond, so Oklahoma adventures are part of our own backyard. Our Oklahoma day-trip guide is a starting point for parks, small towns, and city stops.
Use TravelOK’s official state park directory to check park information and follow its booking links. Confirm current hours, seasonal activities, pet rules, and any required reservations on the destination’s official page before heading out.
Cruise planning and things to do ashore
Choosing the right itinerary is only the beginning. Our Mediterranean cruise guide for couples helps you compare trip styles, while our cruise carry-on packing list covers what to keep with you on embarkation day.
Compare tours with GetYourGuide: Browse Santorini tours and activities as one example for a Mediterranean itinerary. Compare the meeting point, duration, walking or stair requirements, inclusions, and cancellation terms on each listing. For a cruise stop, leave time for getting ashore and returning to the ship; check your cruise line’s all-aboard time before booking an independent tour.
Packing and camp-kitchen gear
Start with what you already own and use our camping and cruise checklists above to identify gaps. A short weekend getaway and a longer cruise do not need the same bag—or the same shopping list.
For campfire cooks: The Lodge 8-quart deep camp Dutch oven is a cast-iron option to compare for outdoor cooking. Check its dimensions, weight, and capacity against your storage space and the meals you plan to make. Our Dutch oven pot roast guide gives you a meal idea to plan around.
Travel with Matilda Jane and Chloe in mind
Traveling with our dogs is the inspiration behind Barkcations, our dog-friendly travel collection. Use it for ideas, then confirm the specific property’s rules before reserving. Ask about pet fees, size or breed restrictions, where dogs can go, and whether they can be left unattended. “Pet-friendly” can mean different things at different places.
A few checks before you book
Flights and places to stay: Compare the total cost for your actual dates, including baggage, parking, resort or cleaning fees, and cancellation terms. For an RV site, check hookups and vehicle limits; for a hotel or rental, check location and pet rules. A low headline price is only one part of the decision.
International trips: U.S. travelers can start with the U.S. Department of State’s international travel resources for destination information, travel advisories, and entry requirements. Check the relevant destination and carrier requirements for your own trip.
