Aria Resort and Casino Las Vegas…Not just for gamblers

Disclosure: I was compensated for this post but as always the thoughts and opinions are my own.

I think one of my favorite things about Las Vegas is that they continue to reinvent themselves.  They are always looking for things that will improve your total experience while you are there.  So when I was asked to if I wanted to enjoy a Mancation at the beautiful Aria Resort and Casino I jumped at the chance.

It had been a while since I had been to Las Vegas and honestly had no idea about what to expect from Aria other than it is a MGM property.  To say I was blown away would be an understatement!  When you 1st walk in you are greeted by Aria staff and the lobby looks like it belongs in an art museum instead of a casino.  What I soon learned is the Aria is one the most technologically advanced hotels in Vegas.  It was designed to reduce energy consumption and earned a LEED Gold Certification.  The rooms are “smart” rooms that can be programed to turn lights on and off, control the TV, curtains and room temperature when you come and go from your room!  When I entered my room the curtains opened, the TV turned on and was playing some soothing jazz music and the lights came on.  Talk about a cool way to start the Mancation!  Another cool feature of the Aria was the wake-up settings on the alarm clock.  Those that know me know I’m not a morning person but when you can program the room to open the curtains and turn the TV on to ESPN, I could get used to waking up like that!

So enough about the room, lets talk about food.  I enjoyed room service for breakfast every morning and ate it looking out my window that over looked the strip.  I just called ahead the night before and placed my order and told them what time I would like it delivered.  I was starting to get spoiled.  Aria also has 16 restaurants so finding something that suits your tastes will be easy.  On our 1st night we enjoyed dinner at the Sage in the Aria.  The food was amazing and the servers were there to answer any questions and make sure you wanted for nothing.  They treat you like you are royalty.  If you are looking for something a little more casual you  need to try the 5 Fifty Pizza Bar.  This is not your typical pizza place.  They have upscale pizza like the white truffle pizza but you can also get just about any kind of pizza you want.  I would be doing you a disservice if I didn’t mention the milkshakes.  I had a strawberry milkshake that I was literally sad when I finished it because it was all gone!

My favorite thing of the Mancation was definitely the Cirque du Soliel’s Zarkana at the Aria Resort and Casino.  I’m a huge Cirque fan and this was by far my favorite.  Every time I see a new Cirque du Soliel show I think there is no way they can top the last one.  Every time I’m amazed.  The cool thing about the theater is the seats.  They were couch like seats that were so comfortable you forget you are at a theater.

What macation would be complete without checking out some sharks?  The Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay has a wide variety of animals in their 1.6 million gallons of water.  You can watch the sharks swim around you while you watch from the safety of a “sunken pirate ship”.  They also have a shallow pool that allow you to get up close and personal with Sting Rays!

  1. So awesome to spend a weekend in Vegas with you and the other guys! Can’t wait to do it again soon – or somewhere even better (though I can’t imagine where THAT might be 🙂 ).
