In a few days my family is heading out on a week long cruise. I couldn’t be happier. We’ve been saving and counting down the days for a very long time. Traveling with me is my husband, 2 young girls and a smelly teenage boy….all in one cabin….one small tiny cramped cabin. Things get messy very fast. Here’s one tip that will help you out a ton!
The first thing that I put in the bottom of my suit case is a pop up laundry hamper. I’ve had this trusty laundry hamper for 15 years and it has served me well! Bringing this little bit of home with you will help keep your room on vacation much more organized.
On our first family vacation I didn’t pack a hamper. Sure they had a thin plastic laundry bag that held like 3 things, but that didn’t work for my family of 5. I had a heck of a time trying to keep my children’s clean clothes are dirty clothes separate. They would take off their damp beach clothes that were full of sand in their suitcase with all of their clean clothes. Put the laundry hamper in the corner of the room at have all dirty clothes in the hamper. Now along with packing the laundry hamper you have to remember a large trash bag to put all the dirty clothes into for you travel back home. And then when you get home all of your dirty clothes are in one spot. I’m not sure how 1 week of vacation clothes can some how turn into 18 loads of laundry! It’s mystery that may never be solved.
I hope that this travel tip helps you on your next family vacation, it has sure been a major help in my travels!
